Review written by: Alex Sandell
I've been a big fan of Woody Allen movies for years, and although Mr. Allen doesn't write or direct this film, his neurotic stylings are stamped all over it, making it an enjoyable film. It's pretty funny in parts, and actually holds your attention for the duration of the movie.
Dreamworks SKG's first stab at animation is good enough to make Mickey Mouse proud. Still, there is room for improvement. The foreground animation is oftentimes awe-inspiring, but the backgrounds are lacking.
This is Dreamworks SKG's second time beating Disney to the punch by releasing a similarly themed movie within a couple months of The Mouse House. First, "Deep Impact" beat "Armageddon" to the big screen by a couple of months, and now "Antz" crawls into theaters a month ahead of Disney's computer-animated "A Bug's Life".
I have no idea what that last paragraph has to do with the review of this film, but it just felt like the right thing to say, at the time.
I'd give it 8 Juicy squirts out of a possible 10
