Why the hell do the ghosts always turn out to be good guys at the end?  It sort of takes away the scares the next time you watch it, and cheapens the scares that you had the first time.  It's like suddenly Hollywood is so PC, even ghosts have to be friendly and nice.  This happened in The Sixth Sense, What Lies Beneath and a bunch of other films I can't remember that have been released in the last few years.  I really hoped that The Others wouldn't fall into this trap.  Unfortunately, it did.  Suddenly, Casper the Friendly Ghost has become the standard-bearer for horror films.
